Hi everyone! I've finally caved--I'll be making my best effort to update this blog regularly with photos and news from Paris. Right now, I have a week left in Bordeaux before we fly back to Charles de Gaulle, and I'm planning on spending it visiting museums and churches and wandering around in the streets. Bordeaux is exactly what I thought of when I thought of French cities--all the buildings are ornate and beautiful, and the streets are small and filled with tiny little cars (SmartCars don't look that small here, but I saw a Jeep once and it looked like a tank). Since pictures are worth a thousand words:
This is the street I walk down every day to go from l'Alliance Français, where I'm taking classes, to the Jardin Publique, the park where I eat lunch.
And this is the really cool building in the Jardin Publique
And this is the center of Bordeaux, the Grand Théâtre, which is right in the heart of the historic downtown where the merchants lived in the 18th century (Bordeaux was a major port). I think this artist in the picture must have been painting the theater, but I didn't get a good look.
